Blended Families:
Working with Blended Families is both challenging and rewarding. Some of the common issues I address and help to resolve with Blended Families include:
- Learning how to bond as a new blended family. Bonding takes time, patience, understanding and unconditional love.
- Addressing the different parental styles of disciplining.
- Building a strong foundation of open communication, trust, compassion, listening and mutual respect between all family members.
- Exploring the varied expectations of family traditions and values in the family. (E.g. holidays and possible religious or non-religious practices.)
- Examine the importance of treating all children fairly and equal.
