When It Is The Final Decision:
When divorce is the final decision made by a couple, whether with or without children, I offer a safe and neutral environment to openly share feelings and discuss various conflicts that may need to be resolved.
When children are involved, it is especially important that:
Parents and Step-Parents find ways to manage and keep conflicts to a minimum. A child should never be made to feel in any way responsible for their parent’s separation and/or divorce.
Children should be allowed to ask questions and receive answers that are age-appropriate.
Making decisions based on what is best for the child should always be the parent’s first priority.
Most of all, a child should always feel loved and wanted regardless of the outcome.
I counsel to help stabilize the situation for the couple, so they can work towards making wiser and beneficial decisions for themselves and everyone involved.
